What is bipolar?

Bipolar disorder, previously called manic depression, is a mental health disorder that induces extreme mood swings that comprise emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression).

When you become depressed, you may feel sad or hopeless and lose interest or delight in most activities. When your mood shifts to mania or hypomania (less extreme than mania), you may feel euphoric, full of energy, or unusually grumpy. These disposition swings can impact bedtime, energy, activity, judgment, conduct, and the ability to think evidently.

Seizures of mood swings may happen infrequently or in numerous periods a year. While most individuals will encounter some emotional symptoms between outbreaks, some may not encounter any.

Although  bipolar illness is a lifelong situation, you can control your mood swings and different symptoms by tracking a remedy plan. In most matters, bipolar condition dines with prescriptions and psychological counseling (psychotherapy).
